A tribute to the South of France
0
0
The Languedoc vase was originally created in glass by René Lalique in 1929. The master glassmaker paid tribute to the lush vegetation of the South of France. Re-issued in crystal, the generous round vase is covered with finely engraved cactus leaves that require a great deal of polishing once the vase is removed from the mould. The satin repolished effect is achieved using the box sandblasting technique, while respecting the serrations that make up each leaf. Measuring 21.5 cm high and 30.5 cm wide, the Languedoc vase weighs 13.89 lb (6.3 kg).
