A tribute to painters

Trompe-l'oeil paintings multiply to dress the facades of Rue de la Poste in the village of Clécy in the Calvados department. They recall the attachment of the painters to the town on the banks of the Orne. Three painters in particular - Paul-Émile Pissarro (1884-1972), Georges Jules Moteley (1865-1923), and André Hardy (1887-1986) – paid tribute to the surrounding landscapes in their paintings. The tourist office located on Place du Tripot also houses a museum dedicated to Hardy, and a route punctuated by nine stops guides the tourists in the footsteps of the painters.
