A treasure of the Bourget Museum

The Breguet 19 TF Super Bidon (because of its large tank), nicknamed the Point d’Interrogation (Question Mark), is one of the three treasures of the Air and Space Museum. Designed for transatlantic flight, it was on board that the pilot Dieudonné Costes and the mechanic-navigator Maurice Bellonte succeeded in flying from Le Bourget to New York in September 1930. They almost got lost in the fog and took a 93.2 miles (150 km) diversions. Received as heroes, the aviators circled the United States and wrote each stage on the fuselage of their red biplane. The question mark meant that the sponsor, in fact the perfumer Coty, was not known.
