A tradition of flax growing
In Normandy like here at the Terre de Lin cooperative, flax is a local tradition. Considered Normandy's green gold, the plant is part of its identity and heritage. Today, the region is a world leader in the production of flax. Its temperate and humid oceanic climate, low thermal amplitude, and rich and deep soil are particularly conducive to its cultivation. The technical mastery and know-how of flax growers also play a major role in the production of high-quality linen fibers.
