A town reliant on fish and seafood

Trouville-sur-Mer mostly relies on its fishermen, fish, and fish market. The low Norman-style structure was built in 1936, but most vendors are located in the street, under a canopy just a few meters from the pier where the fishing boats dock. The best locations are not dedicated to fish but mollusks, crustaceans, and seafood such as already cooked lobsters. There are also mussels presented in shells or in one-liter glass jars, small prawns sold by the glass, sea snails and dog cockles, langoustines, scallops, crabs, squids, and octopuses.
