The municipality of Le Lavandou in the Var department borders the Mediterranean coast for 7.4 miles (12 km) facing the Îles d'Or (Golden Islands) and at the foot of the Massif des Maures. It adjoins the locality of Bormes-les-Mimosas, located to the west and north, and from which it was detached in 1913. The municipalities of La Môle and Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer extend on the eastern border of Le Lavandou. Listed as a tourist resort in 2017 for twelve years, Le Lavandou is part of the arrondissement of Toulon and the canton of La Crau.
