The CRB-Vigne or Center for Biological Resources of the Vine in Vassal-Montpelliers has several experimental facilities dedicated to the research and conservation of the different varieties of vines it studies. It notably houses 67 acres (27 ha) of vineyard on sand, about 8,000 sqft (780 m²) of greenhouses - one of them is equipped with an insect-proof veil - technical rooms, an agricultural shed, and a herbarium and documentation room. The center's mission is articulated in three parts: the conservation and management of genetic resources, the characterization of accessions of conserved vines, and the valuation of the plant material housed there.
