A territory between forests and mountains

The Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park extends between Franche-Comté and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This territory of mountains and forests includes the Jura chain with the Crêt de la Neige, the Reculet, the Crêt de Chalam, and the Crêt Pela. In winter, a wide snowpack makes it look like Canada and covers its spruce forests sometimes some 165 ft (50 m) high. It is in the Combe de Laisia, at an altitude of 3,937 ft (1,200 m), that the musher Pierre Daniel chose to settle with his pack of huskies to allow people to discover the region in an original way around his Bois Fous” estate.
