The Lérins Islands form a set of emerged lands with a total area of 1.5 sqm (2.5 km²) of low relief. Located off the city of Cannes, they are symmetrically organized around the two main islands of Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, separated by the 2,624 ft (800 m) wide Plateau du Milieu. Each of them is accompanied at its eastern end by a deserted islet, the Tradelière (photo) for Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Ferréol for Saint-Honorat. L'Îlot, a small rocky cluster located south of Saint-Honorat, brings the number of the Lérins Islands to five.
