The Explorers
The priory of the Sainte-Victoire mountain stands on the site of the original Sainte-Venture chapel at an altitude of 2,952 ft (900 m) amid a steep environment. It is located at the edge of a gutter-shaped valley descending along a north-south axis to an aven surmounted by a cliff. Other cliffs several tens of meters high border the valley to the east and west, limiting the site's sunshine.
