A sought-after snorkeling spot

The small town of Les Anses-d'Arlet on the southern Caribbean coast of Martinique has some 3,500 inhabitants and is one of the four most touristy localities on the island. It attracts locals and visitors for its unique location on several coves - Grande-Anse, Anses-d'Arlet, Petite-Anse, Anse-Dufour, Anse-Noire - all bordered by white sand beaches with the exception of the black sand beach of volcanic origin of Anse-Noire. Like all the beaches on the southern Caribbean coast, that of Anses-d'Arlet offers transparent and turquoise water, very calm and ideal for swimming. Its white sand bottom and the almost completely submerged rock on the right side of the beach constitute a sought-after snorkeling spot. A hundred species of colorful fish, multicolored corals, sea parrots, squids, or turtles thrive in the area.
