Fort (or redoubt) des Salettes is a small fortified infantry structure located at an altitude of 4,757 ft (1,450 m) under the battery and position of the Croix de Toulouse in Briançon. Initially built between 1709 and 1712 according to Vauban's plans, it was modified into a work of artillery between 1844 and 1853. The initial redoubt consisted of a square tower defended by guns.
