The Provençal Colorado is a former open-air ocher extraction site managed by an association bringing together the various former owners and ocher-makers, today responsible for the maintenance and preservation of the quarry. It was exploited from 1871 until the beginning of the 1990s, with the last ocher washing happening in 1993. Transformed and rehabilitated, the Provençal Colorado has been sculpted by erosion and time that shaped its remarkable setting rich in 24 different natural pigmentations.
