A site formed by two museums

The Interpretation Center of the battle of Alesia and the Archaeological Museum both benefit from the Musée de France (Museum of France) label. At the foot of Alise-Sainte-Reine in the Côte-d'Or department, they form the MuséoParc Alésia on two sites 1.24 miles (2 km) apart. The archaeological site and the statue of Vercingétorix, erected by Napoleon III and created by Aimé Millet, bear witness to the confrontation between Julius Caesar and Vercingétorix. The Interpretation Center exhibits Roman military maneuvers and explains the siege of the Gallic oppidum.
