In 1997, the Most Beautiful Villages of France association recognized the locality of Sainte-Agnès in the Alpes-Maritimes department. Such distinction contributed to the notoriety of the village and the rise of its tourist frequentation and impacted its economic, social, and cultural development. Sainte-Agnès has also benefited from partnerships with publishers of tourist guides and tour operators and from the promotion of events highlighting local products and know-how.
