The Queyras Regional Nature Park extends at the junction of Alpine and Mediterranean climatological phenomena that cause significant temperature differences depending on the season. Such climatic diversity favors the cohabitation of very varied species. It is further reinforced by the low human population of the park that, with barely 2,500 permanent inhabitants, is the least populated of the regional nature parks in mainland France.
