The island of Bagaud is a sentinel island in the Mediterranean sea located in the archipelago of the Hyères Islands, west of Port-Cros. Listed as an Integral Reserve of Port-Cros National Park for its emerged part in 2007 and assigned to the Coastal Protection Agency by the Ministry of Defense in 2008, its access is currently forbidden, and the island has not been inhabited since 1985. Bagaud Island is home to ecosystems typical of the Mediterranean environment and constitutes a pilot site for observing the ten-year ecological restoration process set up by the park and its scientific partners.
