A sense of marine immersion

This painting entitled Not yet titled was created in 2018 especially for the Fondation Carmignac in Porquerolles. It is the work of the Spanish artist Miquel Barceló born in 1957 in Felanitx. An octopus seen while diving around the island would have inspired him this monumental aquatic landscape in which different oversized specimens evolve. The canvas is bathed in the natural light let in by the watery ceiling that illuminates the room like the bottom of the sea and makes palpable the sense of immersion. Not yet titled is part of the seabed-themed collection of the foundation that can be admired bare feet.
