The Lac de Saint-Agnan extends at an altitude of 1,903 ft (580 m) in the Nièvre department. Its brown-tinted waters are reputed to be full of fish, and it is a lake of second category fish farming. Many fishermen frequent its waters on electric boats or fish on its banks, provided they have a fishing license. The Lac de Saint-Agnan's depth does not exceed 65 ft (20 m), and stumps and rocks house zanders, perches, and pikes. Carps are also present there as well as small roaches, rudds, and crayfish.
