Lac de Saint-Agnan is a second category fish lake according to the legal classification of rivers depending on the dominant groups of fish. A watercourse is declared first category when the dominant group is made up of salmonids (salmon, trouts, chars). It is considered second category when the dominant group consists of cyprinids (white fish). The fish reserves of Lac de Saint-Agnan mainly include pikes, zanders, perches, roaches, mirror carps, and tenches, some of which exceed 33 pounds (15 kg).
