The fundamental goal of the Tortoise Village of Carnoules - a veritable sanctuary dedicated to one of the oldest animals on our planet - is the protection of terrestrial, aquatic or marine tortoises and turtles. Most of the animals which find refuge there and benefit from the care of the nursing team do not come from the in situ breeding center but from abandonments by individuals or seizures made by customs.
