The Var chestnut groves flourish on the slopes of the reliefs of the Massif des Maures in an almost complete absence of fences which allows the forest to retain all its authenticity. The local producers, as in Collobrières, create and offer all kinds of products derived from chestnuts, from jams to creams, including candied chestnuts and even beer or chestnut wood baskets. They are represented by various local brands such as Cast’Ânes, the Godissard chestnut grove, the Confiserie Azuréenne, the Rucher des Maures, and Esprit Châtaigne.
