The Arenas of Arles are a Roman amphitheater built as part of the Flavian expansions of the city around 80-90 AD on the Hauture hill in place of the Augustan enclosure erected a century earlier. It constitutes the most significant monument and symbol of the ancient Roman colony of Arles, today located in the Bouches-du-Rhone department and then called Arelate.
