The Explorers
The 'Estéron' is a tributary of the Var which flows from west to east over 38.5 miles (62 km) in the departments of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes. It takes its source at an altitude of 3,805 feet (1,160 m) near Castellane. Its course, whose width and inclination are very variable, crosses several gorges called 'clues'.
