A rich collection of horse-drawn carriages

The Haras National du Pin has a rich collection of horse-drawn carriages that testify to the art of living in the 19th century and the evolution of bodywork - a French know-how - to the rhythm of artistic fashions. In 1991, this horse-drawn heritage was listed by Jean-Louis Libourel, who published a book entitled Heritage Route on horse-drawn carriages in Le Pin. Most of these cars are protected as Historical Monuments, and some have been restored, notably thanks to the patronage of Jean-Paul Guerlain and the Heritage Foundation. Five cars - a closed Milord or French Cab, a Phaéton, a Grand Break, a Park Drag or Road Coach, and a coupé de voyage or dormeuse - can be discovered by visitors during the guided tour of the stud farm.
