The Luberon Regional Nature Park benefits from very diverse landscapes and natural environments subject to a Mediterranean-type climate marked locally by mountain and temperate influences. Its particular geology also explains the presence of an unexpected flora of more than 1,500 varieties, some of which are specific to ocher massifs. While holm oak, white oak, Aleppo pine, Scots pine, thyme, rosemary, or boxwood grow indifferently on limestone or siliceous soils, other varieties such as maritime pine, chestnut, or heather are more particularly associated with ocher soils.
