In Sommevoire, GHM is a sort of factory-village, on top of a slight hill, cut in the middle by the rue Durenne, named after its founder. Antoine Durenne left his mark on the region and the town of Sommevoire by transforming a small workshop with a blast furnace into a world-renowned art foundry. The cast-iron works of art that came out of the foundry went on to adorn many cities, starting with Paris. The former water mill is now home to the design department, as GHM calls on renowned designers to create its street furniture.
