A reinvented winter garden

The Villa Bon Abri was built by the architect Clément Parent, whose son Louis was friends with Marcel Proust. He was also at the origin of the Grand Hôtel in Cabourg. The Villa du Temps Retrouvé (Villa of Recovered Time) presents a winter garden atmosphere with a luminous Art Deco ceiling. It shows paintings by masters such as René-Xavier Prinet (Beach at High Tide), Jacques-Émile Blanche (Beach at Dieppe), or Gaston Roullet (A corner of the Old Port, Granville). A white rattan birdcage contains the most delicate animated holograms created by Gaston Velle for the Pathé brothers (Butterfly Metamorphoses, Metempsychosis).
