Near Le-Pont-des-Vaux, at the end of the Anse Saint-Martin, Port-Racine, named after the privateer who had it built in 1813, forms a quadrilateral of granite piers. Its 20 acres (8 ha) make it the smallest port in France, where only 25 canoes (6,50 ft x 18 ft / 2 m x 5.5 m maximum) can moor. When Captain François-Médard Racine died in 1817, local fishermen reinforced the piers and gave them their final shape in 1870 and 1886.
