A quadrangular Baroque bell tower
The onion bell tower of the Saint-Pierre parish church of Castellar in the Alpes-Maritimes department rises to 114 ft (35 m). The structure surmounted by a weather vane comprises two bells cast in 1661 and 1900. Offset from the church itself and quadrangular in shape, the bell tower is typical of the Baroque style that plays on the interweaving of geometric shapes.
