Madine Lake's significant biodiversity makes it a particularly protected area. Its aquatic vegetation nourished hundreds of bird and mammal species. Nevertheless, the lake's infrastructures comprise a leisure center and a marina. They are governed according to strict rules. Heat engines are forbidden on the boats, instead equipped with sails or electric motors. The objective is to ensure the tranquility of the birds nesting or resting on the area during migration periods. In order to strengthen this policy, quiet zones forbidden to access for the public have been set up.
