A pond famous for wind and seafood

Étang de Leucate is a 9.32 miles (15 km) long pond located 24.85 miles (40 km) from the Catalan city of Perpignan. The town of Leucate itself extends over four tourist areas: La Franqui, Leucate Village, Leucate Plage, and Port Leucate. The reputation of the pond mostly comes from the powerful winds that cross it. Étang de Leucate is also famous for shellfish and fish farming, which makes it a major crossing point for seafood enthusiasts.
