A plateau adapted to hiking
0
0
Known for its remarkable geological formations, the Mourres plateau is also a site conducive to hiking. On either side of the departmental road to Fontienne, a 1.2 miles (2 km) marked circuit punctuated with explanatory panels allows walkers to appreciate most of the rocks of the Mourres and discover this sub-desert environment with a flora adapted to drought. This route, which oscillates between 2,089 and 2,385 ft (637 and 727 m) above sea level, also offers a panoramic view of the village of Forcalquier to the south.
