Inaugurated at the start of the 21st century, the Allées Provençales of Aix-en-Provence are a place of transition between the historic center, the Encagnane district and the cultural forum made up of the Grand Théâtre de Provence, the Pavillon Noir, the Music Conservatory, and the Cité du Livre Méjanes. A true open-air shopping center, the Allées Provençales generate a significant footfall of more than ten million passers-by per year. They are integrated within the continuity of the pathway of the Cours Mirabeau and the Rotonde thanks to their pedestrianization and the use of similar slabs and the same ground level between the different spaces.
