A place of prayer and retreat
0
0
Every year, thousands of pilgrims and visitors in search of silent prayer head to the monastery of Notre-Dame de Clémence in the Maures Massif. In addition to the rules of silence and solitude of the nuns of Bethlehem, the Assumption of the Virgin, and Saint-Bruno, the wild and austere forest of holm oaks and chestnut trees that surrounds the site as well as the harshness of the climate contribute to the creation of a privileged spiritual space. At the entrance to the monastery stand hospitality buildings that host short-term retreats. The participants subjected to silence and solitude can attend liturgical services in the monastery, pray in their cell's oratory, worship the Holy Communion in the church, and receive the secrets of evangelical life.
