An outdoor circuit allows the Cité de l'Automobile to grow from 10 to 20 acres (4 to 8 ha). With a capacity of 4,500 visitors, it complements the museum adjoining it by welcoming shows and events. Some of the most emblematic and prestigious cars of the museum sometimes parade on its three rings. Enthusiasts can also meet there and circle it with the automobiles they restored. The Cité de l'Automobile was the first museum to create a motor-racing track.
