A peninsula with two discovery circuits

Two discovery circuits of the Caravelle peninsula have been set up from the Château Dubuc car park towards the shores and ridges. The first circuit, called petit sentier, offers visitors a 1h30 hike without particular difficulties and often shaded to discover the fauna and flora of the dry forest and the mangrove. More complete, the less shaded grand sentier of 3h20 completes the previous one by traversing the fauna and flora of the cliffs and savannahs of the Atlantic coast. It forms a 5 miles (8 km) loop that can be used in both directions, by the lighthouse or by the mangrove, with the possibility of a shortcut. Starting with the lighthouse is easier and allows avoiding a rather sporty climb. On both trails, various equipment (information panels, observatory, grating through the mangroves, orientation table at 515 ft / 157 m above sea level) promote the identification of species and the interpretation of places to better understand the geology and the functioning of the ecosystems of the Caravelle peninsula.
