The old town of Manosque, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, is surrounded by boulevards that clearly separate it from the rest of the city. It was built according to a pear-shaped plan on a hill between the valleys of the Douilles to the southwest and Couquières to the northeast. The old faubourgs around the historic center of Manosque hardly extend beyond the two valleys.
