The Ott* estates, that comprise Château de Selle, Clos Mireille, and Château Romassan, were born from the passion of a young Alsatian agricultural engineer, Marcel Ott, for viticulture. In 1896, at the end of a wine tour of France, he discovered the lands of Provence on the shores of the Mediterranean, where the cultivation of vines is a heritage of Antiquity. He then took advantage of the ravages of the phylloxera epidemic to buy vineyards at a lower price and restore them with the ambition of producing great Provence wines from noble grape varieties.
