A park set up on an industrial wasteland

The Habitation Clément park in Martinique was created in the early 1990s on the industrial wasteland of the former distillery. Its 39.5 acres (16 ha) reuse the structures of the old factory in its layout and integrate the remains of buildings and machines witnessing past technology into the visit route. The old settling ponds have been transformed into two bodies of water bordered by a majestic alley of tall royal palm trees visible here. This alley leads to the tropical orchard and the old cattle mill. Another palm grove rich in many varieties (Elata, Christmas, Bismark, etc.) from Asia and Africa extends at the bottom of the ravine.
