A parish Gothic church

0
Between Reims and Epernay, Ay thrives amongst the vines. The small city has been renowned since Gallo-Roman times. Listed as a Historic Monument, the Gothic church of St. Brice in Ay was built on the site of an older building, around the 15th century. In 1550, a stone tower was constructed and topped with a spire. Numerous statues adorn the western façade. The main door is a triple ribbed doorway, the central one of which relates the life of Brice de Tours. It is enhanced by a frieze combining vines and fabulous animals. All the magnificence of Gothic art.
