In the field of ampelography (that studies the vine and the different grape varieties), the Vassal-Montpellier Biological Resource Center (CRB-Vigne) is the central French collection in terms of its size and richness of varieties. It is also the benchmark conservatory for the rest of the world. The large quantity of vines kept at ‘CRB-Vigne’ makes it a unique collection in the world and allows the identification of varieties and research for scientists, breeders, and professionals in the wine industry.
