A nivo-pluvial hydrological regime
0
0
The flow of the Verdon was observed from 1969 to 2006 at its confluence with the Durance near Vinon-sur-Verdon. It presents seasonal fluctuations typical of a nivo-pluvial hydrological regime with two flood periods. The least significant flood is linked to the autumn rains which increase the average monthly flow from 26.8 m3/s to 30.9 m3/s in November. A drop in flow then follows between December and February when precipitation is retained in the mountains as snow, before a second increase in water levels in April and May (up to 47.5 m3/s) due to thawing and spring rains.
