A natural material with great plasticity
2
0
The natural product of a geological process, clay, also called loam, is mainly composed of silica, alumina, and tiny rock particles. Its great plasticity allows it to be molded when it is wet and to give it a shape that it will retain once dried and cooked. The modeling of clay on the wheel and by hand is done through dint of small gestures that add material, remove it, and modify the shape of the object until obtaining the desired aspect while always remaining in phase with its ongoing hardening.
