A mountainous and wild region

Cap Saint-Martin is located near Rivière Trois Bras and Anse Capot, at the northwestern tip of the island of Martinique, at an estimated altitude of 190 ft (58 m). Surrounded by the impenetrable hills of the north of the island, it juts out into the sea northwest of its culminating point Mount Pelée (4,583 ft / 1,397 m). The small black sand beach bordering it as well as the rocks that outcrop under the luxuriant vegetation testify to the region's volcanic activity. The cape and its surroundings illustrate the more mountainous character and the wilder aspect of the North Caribbean coast of the island.
