The 6,300 acres (2,550 ha) of the municipality of Carnoules are mostly (66.3%) covered with forests and semi-natural environments. Forests alone represent 54.3% of the territory, while areas with shrub and herbaceous vegetation occupy only 12%. Carnoules also consists of agricultural lands dedicated to permanent crops on 22.4% of its surface and heterogeneous crops on 4.4%. Finally, the urbanized zones cover only 7% of the municipal territory. They include the Saint-Michel district east of the village and the hamlets of Bron to the south as well as Les Cros de Sauvan, Les Moulières, Les Bouscarlonnes, Saint-Victor, Notre-Dame, Les Vallons, Les Naies, and Les Baumes.
