The Pays d'Auge mostly consists of large agricultural areas (86.5% in 2018), a proportion that has not changed since 1990. These areas are formed of 80.4% grasslands inhabited mainly by herds of cows, 13.3% forests, and 6.1% arable land. The underground often being particularly stony, agriculture is more difficult there than elsewhere in Normandy. Many farms have converted their activity to the tourist industry and offer guest rooms.
