The Bauges massif regional natural park is located in the Northern Alps, in the departments of Savoie and Haute-Savoie. It covers an area of approximately 559 square miles (900 km2) of medium mountain located between 3,280 and 6,561 feet (1,000 and 2,000 m) above sea level and conducive both to the development of the fauna and flora and to the human habitation. It brings together 67 municipalities representing 67,000 inhabitants (2014) for a population density of 79 inhabitants / km2.
