Orschwiller is a small French village located in the Lower-Rhine and the Grand Est region (formerly Alsace). The town, close to the border with Germany, covers 1,556 acres (6.3 km²) and has 608 inhabitants. It is cited for the first time in 748, under the name Andaldovillare, and has always been a high place for viticulture. At the same time, the prelates of the abbey of Ebersmunster already exploited a vast vineyard in the still famous place of Prelatenberg.
