A matriarch of elephant

Elephant herds are guided by a wise and older female called the matriarch. Did you know that they can communicate with each other at a distance of 15 km?? They do this at such low frequencies that cannot be picked up by the human ear. We came across this wonderful herd in the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park in South Africa. In this case we were on a safari and photographed the herd from the vehicle but did you know that you can go on walking safaris too? I wrote an article about it and hope it inspires the ones who would like to try something else beyond a safari one day!
